This 34.98 carat diamond has a rich history, after being found in India more than 400 years ago, it's been held by a number of European royal families. It was held in the Royal collections of France, England, Prussia and the House of Orange (Holland). While estimated at just $2 million USD, it was sold for 5 times as much thanks to multiple bidders who couldn't let it go into someone else's hands.

"The Orange" is the largest fancy vivid orange diamond in the world, with fancy vivid meaning it's as colorful as can be. This pear shaped diamond is one of the most expensive diamonds ever sold, mainly due to it's sheer size and orange color, which is quite rare. It was sold on the 12th of November at Christie's during a auction located in Geneva's Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues which is actually just a couple of streets away from where the Pink Star got sold.

This beautifully colored diamond was mined in 1999 and unveiled to the public on the 29th of May 2003. The diamond weighs 59.6 carat (11.92 grams). In 2007, the diamond was sold privately, but neither the identity of the buyer, nor the price is known. The diamond made headlines again when it was sold at a Sotheby's auction in Geneva on the 13th of November 2013. The sale price was over $83 million USD. The buyer was diamond cutter Isaac Wolf from New York who wanted to rename it "The Pink Dream", according to Forbes magazine, the buyer has yet to pay for the auction, so the diamond has been added to Sotheby's inventory.
